Although digital signatures have become a popular way to sign documents, you may have a document of your own where you just want to write your signature. Using Google’s drawing tool, you can easily create and insert your signature.
Create and sign your signature.
Have you already used the Google Drawing website to create signatures? If so, you can add this document to your document instead of signing a new one.
To start creating a new signature, visit Google Docs, sign in, and open your document. Place your cursor in your document where you want to enter the signature. In the menu, click Insert> Drawing and select “New”.
The Google Drawing Tool opens with a large, blank canvas for your signature. Select a line, click the drop-down box, and select “Scrabble.”
Drag your signature using the plus sign that appears. You can put it in a single, flowing line or a few together. If you have one, you’ll want to use your iPad as a drawing tablet.
Next, you can adjust the color, width, or style of the line if you wish. Select the signature or each of its pieces and select the Tool drop-down box for your options.
When you’re happy with the signature, click “Save and Close” to insert it into your document.
The drawing tool will close, and you will return to your signature with the signature.

Edit or position your signature.
Once you insert a drawing into your document, it appears as an image. It allows you to choose its position with respect to other text and adjust the size and rotation. You can also edit it after inserting it if needed.

Select the image and use the options in the floating toolbar that appears below. You’ll see options to edit the signature (which re-opens the drawing tool), arrange the signature with the text, or view all the options in the image.
You can resize the signature by dragging a corner or edge, or straighten it into a document using the options in the toolbar.
