How Razor’s new keyboards eliminate input delays.

In the world of gaming peripherals, Razor is a well-known brand. The company usually makes great things, and its latest Huntsman V2 and Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless almost promise to eliminate input delays, which is important for PC gaming.

Razer has announced two different versions of the Huntsman V2 mechanical keyboard. First, there’s the full-size model that comes with the numberpad, volume wheel, media controls, and all the other buttons you can ever want. Tank Lace also knocks down all the extra buttons and gives you the main keyboard.

Either way, what makes the Razer Huntsman V2 less of a delay. Razor did not deliver on its promise of a delay by combining some different technologies. First, the keyboard polling rate is 8,000Hz. Second, it uses optical switches, which use light beams to detect capers instead of metal contacts. They get rid of any debunking delays, creating an experience of near zero delays.

Razor actually calls it “the world’s fastest keyboard”, a bold claim, but based on the data shown in the press release, it seems to be true.

“We broke new ground with the original Huntsman, bringing optical switches to mainstream gaming for the first time,” said Chris Mitchell, head of sales and marketing at Razor Perry Ferrell Business Unit. Improvements and refinements to the new Huntsman V2 range now provide players with a higher-performance, gaming-focused keyboard that feels smoother, responds even faster, and feels calmer than before.

For PC gaming, this, with a high refresh rate monitor, can make a huge difference in terms of performance. That extra part of a second can be the difference between winning and losing, especially in competitive e-sports matches.

Your keyboard is delayed.

Whether you feel it or not, your keyboard is delayed, and it can make a difference in gaming. Unfortunately, wireless keyboards are much slower than wired, so if you’re playing a PC game on a cheap wireless keyboard, you’re hurting yourself a bit.

The difference isn’t that big of a deal for many players, but if you’re at a high level, it’s worth investing in a low-delay wired mechanical keyboard.
