Houston police said a man was shot and killed in a car at 9900 Street on Bessemer Street off Bay Highway.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – An investigation is underway after Houston police said a man was shot dead Sunday afternoon on the city’s southeast side.

HPD said reports of the shooting came in about 2:15 p.m. officers responded to the 9900 block of Bessemer Street, not far from Bay Highway.

Investigators said that upon their arrival, a dead Hispanic man was found in a white car at the scene. At this time, police say the victim has not been identified.

The white car was found smashed into a sign.

Police did not release any information about a suspect until Sunday night.

It is not clear what led to the shooting.

Investigators in the area are looking for any surveillance video that might help them.
