Terrified young girl molested by Madeleine McCann, suspect Christian Bruckner fears he will one day be released from prison and ‘panicked’ her whole life
A young girl who has been molested by the main suspect in the Madeleine McCann case is terrified he will come after her again if he is released.
The girl’s Portuguese mother said her daughter, now 12, feared Christian Bruckner would seek revenge after the evidence she presented put him behind bars.
German investigators believe Bruckner, 44, who was convicted of pedophile and rapist tendencies, kidnapped and killed three-year-old Madeleine in 2007.
In a TV documentary produced by German newspaper Bild, the mother said: “My daughter gets scared when I talk about Christian B in public. She asks what will happen when he gets out of prison.
“She is terrified of my life and hers.”
The girl was only eight years old in 2017 when Bruckner revealed himself to her on a playground at the Village Festival in San Bartolomeo de Messines, Portugal.
The mother remembered: “My daughter came running and said, There is a man, he is showing his caution.
“I went there right away. There’s a little house on the playground, Christian B was in it with his pants down. He looked at my daughter and said, ‘Hey, what’s your name?'” “
“He was completely drunk, there might have been other drugs. Then we called the police.”
After his arrest, Bruckner was deported to Germany to serve a suspended prison sentence for child sex offenses. He was named the prime suspect in the McCann case after phone records recorded him in Praia da Luz, Portugal, where she disappeared on vacation.
He strongly denies any involvement.
