Google’s John Mرller explains why a website will display keywords that are unusual or not relevant to the site.

M مولller shared this information on Reddit in response to the title thread: “My website has keyword clicks that I can’t find on my site using them. How is that possible?”

The original poster of the thread is surprised that the key words were shown in their search console report. When they try to find your site using the same keywords, they can’t find it even after ten pages of search results.

If a site is appearing for unexpected questions, and the results are not easily replicated, most likely the reasons are either privatization and / or local goals.

“Usually this is personal and local targeting. Mرller added that the photos were another reason that could happen.

It is possible that the site’s images are being dragged into a box that appears at the top of the search results, or that knowledge panels on that side are visible.

When an image is displayed in a box or knowledge panel, it logs in to the search console as an impression. If a bizarre keyword has too many impressions, a high ranking, and a few clicks, then the images are likely to be why the site is ranking for these queries.

“The second option is pictures. Some queries sometimes show the icon in a box (where there is a group of icons at the top of your results), and if an image of your pages is displayed there, you get an impression in the search console. We will see this from (similarly if the icon side is shown in the knowledge panel section). I suspect that most of these images do not get clicks, so it may appear that a large number of your impressions are high, but there are few clicks for these queries. “

Finally, M مولller suggests a different approach to analyzing data in the search console to find out where the feedback is coming from.

Identify the country of origin, then adjust Google’s advanced search settings to display results from that country. You will now be closely represented by consumers.
