According to a Reddit thread, OnePlus India is now offering free battery replacement for OnePlus 3, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6T. All you have to do is pay for the replacement, which is only INR 473 (approximately $ 6 or € 5) for a user’s OnePlus 5T.
This applies when you visit the official OnePlus store, not for courier pickups which may incur additional charges. The reason for this move is apparently that the company is stuck with a lot of unused spare batteries for these phones, and since they are still old, the demand for these batteries is not expected to be very high. As such, it is choosing to make them available (almost) for free, which is probably going to give OnePlus some goodwill from its customers.
One Plus 5.
Considering how old the devices under consideration are, we still want to get most of them out in the woods, we will definitely use a new battery right now, so this is a great moment.
Note that if you don’t want to risk it and just want to go to a store to replace the battery, you can book the service online instead, but in that case you are getting only 50% discount.
