General Motors, Ford to be fully electric by 2040 – CBS Detroit
(CBS Detroit) Despite the slowdown, electric cars are proving to be the future for automakers.
It’s a multibillion dollar project for almost every major automaker right now.
General Motors and Ford are spending big to build new electric vehicle plants or remodel existing ones.
These new plants must be retrofitted with special production tools to handle electric vehicles.
While it costs a lot of money, it also provides a lot of functionality.
This comes just days after Ford announced a $1 billion investment in new plants in Kentucky and Tennessee, creating 11,000 new jobs there.
General Motors and Ford both plan to have an all-electric lineup by 2040.
