‘I survived Diet Coke, cigarettes and coffee’: Queens Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy reveals she burned filming for three consecutive projects
She became a household name and won many awards for her role in the Queenmaneuvering.
However, Anya Taylor-Joy revealed that she was suffering from exhaustion while filming Netflix The series, because it came directly from behind the filming of two films.
The 25-year-old actress spoke about her experience along with an adorable cover photo for Tatler magazine.
Candid: Anya Taylor-Joy revealed that she was experiencing fatigue while filming The Queen’s Gambit, as it came immediately after filming two films.
Initially filming the lead role in an adaptation of Autumn de Wilde came on Emma’s big screen, then after just a day off she started working on psychological horror last night in Soho before. Go straight to the depiction of the Queen’s Gambit.
Anya said: I lived on Diet Coke and cigarettes and coffee, and by the end of it, I was like, “I want to eat vegetables.”
By the time she turned around filming the Netflix mini-series, Anya admitted that she was in bed by 8pm every night, but struggled with the fact that she wanted to be outside socializing and partying like her friends in their twenties.

Anya ponders: “I don’t have time to be twenty-five with a hangover. But I’m not someone who needs a drink to dance.
I became very efficient in everything. I’m like, “What do I need to get out of this situation? I need to dance for a few hours, see my friends and have a good time,” so I’m like, “Okay, let’s do this.”

Then it’s: go home, shower, and get up for work. I look psychological, but that’s what works for me now.
However, Anya’s hard work paid off, as she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Emma, and won a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her role in The Queen’s Gambit.
Her next project, Last Night in Soho, released in October and sees her star alongside Matt Smith.
The film follows Eloise (Thomasin Mackenzie), a young woman with a passion for fashion design and an uncanny sixth sense, who mysteriously finds herself transported back in time to 1966 in London in the body of her idol, a singer named Sandy (Ania).
