Funeral for Aurora Police Officer Brian Shields, who died of COVID-19, takes place Tuesday in Oswego – CBS Chicago

Chicago (CBS) – A funeral service will be held on Tuesday Aurora Police Officer who died from complications after contracting COVID-19.
Officer Brian Shields’ funeral will be held at Harvest New Beginnings Church in Oswego at 10:30 AM.

Aurora police said Shields died Tuesday morning at the age of 51.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Brian’s family and to everyone who has served with them during over 16 years as an officer in the Aurora Police Department,” Aurora Police Chief Keith Cross said in a press release. “Our Police Department family will do everything in their power to provide support and comfort to Brian’s family. Brian’s memory will live on forever in APD.”
