The League Cup remains the only domestic cup the Toffees have yet to win, having reached the final twice in their history, but the Blues have won their last four encounters with the team of the tournament, including a 4-0 win in the FA Cup in 2014.

Liverpool last lifted the trophy in 2012 during Kenny Dalglish’s second tenure, but they have failed to get past the quarter-finals in any of their domestic cup competitions since 2017.

Both teams will be looking to improve on their recent history in the competition, with Everton already using their squad to get back to winning ways in the previous round.

All matches are scheduled to take place from September 21 to 22.
