Erdogan appoints his loyal Turkish Finance Minister amid the lira’s path
ISTANBUL – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appointed a loyalist to the country’s new finance minister on Thursday, after the incumbent resigned over clashes with the long-time leader’s unconventional economic policies that exacerbated a currency crisis rocking the country.
Noureddine Nabati, the former deputy finance minister, replaced Lotfi Elvan at the head of the Finance Ministry.
