As winter grips St. Louis in the clutches of a blizzard, we can’t help but dream of spring—and Eckert Farm gives us something to look forward to.

After a successful launch of hard cider last spring, the farm plans to open two separate spaces where you can enjoy some cider-flavored goodies. The Cider Shed Tasting Room and Pavilion and the Cider Donut and Custard are located between the country store and the country restaurant at Belleville Farm (951 S Green Mt Road, 618-310-2758).

The new space will also provide an area for concerts and special events, a beer garden and more.

“This is the largest project we have undertaken since the Country Store & Restaurant was built in 2010,” said Chris Eckert, President and CEO of Eckert Farms, in a press release. “We feel it will transform our Belleville facility, making it relevant and exciting for future generations of Eckert guests.”

Construction has begun in the space and is expected to be completed in late spring or early summer. Cider Shed Tasting Room and Suite takes over the existing custard shop and will feature a dining room and bar with a covered outdoor area. The pavilion serves as a beer garden space for Eckert and seats 400 people; There will be an outdoor bar and deck so the farm can host summer parties and other entertainment.

Eckert’s current cooking class will be replaced by the new Cider Donut and Custard Shop, a walk-in counter where guests can purchase year-round cider donuts, fresh sundaes and other desserts.

The farm hosts more than 750,000 people each year, and the organization is excited to give people more reasons to visit the farm throughout the year, Eckert said in a press release.
