Cristiano Ronaldo: Man City offered an opportunity to sign the Juventus striker football news

Manchester City had the opportunity to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

Ronaldo’s contract expires next summer and Juventus want to sell him to save £500,000 a week in wages plus taxes.

Ronaldo is ready to leave and his agent Jorge Mendes has been looking for a club willing to pay the 36-year-old a transfer fee of £25m.

City are interested in bringing Ronaldo back to the Premier League on a free transfer and are willing to give him a two-year contract, with a salary of 12.8 million pounds per season (15 million euros), according to the British newspaper The Guardian. Heaven in Italy.

But Juventus want at least 21.4 million pounds (25 million euros) in transfer fees and no official offer has been made so far.

City are happy with the work they have done this summer after signing Jack Grealish for £100m, and Pep Guardiola will be happy to continue the season without any further signings.

He believes his team is now stronger than last season’s champions but City are still willing to sign a striker after losing Harry Kane.

Ronaldo’s current contract with Juventus runs until the summer of 2022

Ronaldo does not fit the profile of the player they are looking for, but they will consider signing him if the deal makes sense from a sporting and financial perspective.

The 36-year-old, who scored 118 goals in 292 games for Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, has been linked with a move away from Torino this summer and is understood to be open to a departure, but Juventus expect him to stay.

Ronaldo did not communicate with the club directly about his desire to leave. His current contract at the Allianz Stadium runs until June 2022 and earns €31 million a year after tax.

City are the only club currently interested in signing Ronaldo, with PSG not featured in the picture.

Ronaldo’s representatives are pressing for a move, while Juventus would like to sign Gabriel Jesus to be part of the deal, but City do not want to sell the Brazil international.
