Combat crews fight a large hull fire in El Sereno

Crews are battling a large fire in a building in El Sereno Thursday afternoon. Sky5 is up.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the fire was in the large single-story commercial building at 4900 E. Alhambra Ave. It started around 5:20 p.m. with a fire burning in the roof.

There were 126 members of the Lebanese Armed Forces fighting the fire, dubbed the Al-Hamra fire, on defensive operations, where it escalated to a state of “major emergency.”

Sky5 was hovering in the sky around 5:40pm as black smoke could be seen billowing in the air and intense orange flames overcame the warehouse.

At least seven fire engines surrounding the building were seen dotting the water above the flames.

There were no reports of injuries, nor was an order issued for evacuation.

Firefighters were also working on Thursday to put out huge fire I got out of control outside a warehouse in Carson. About 200 firefighters were at the site battling the Greater Alert fire as of 4:45 p.m., including some Los Angeles firefighters, officials said.
