Charles Lee Tillman, Jr. was taken into custody by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Tuesday morning in Killeen, according to LaGrange Police and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Tillman was wanted in connection with the May 30 murder of David Wayne Harrison Jr.

Before Tillman’s arrest, members of The Harrison family spoke to ABC13 their grief and their hope for justice.

Harrison’s mother, Lisa Smith, said of the day before his death: “Either I said, ‘God bless you’ or ‘I love you,’ and he said, ‘Okay mom,’ and that was it.” “The next night, my son died.”

“Every step you take is one step closer to justice,” Smith said. “I don’t know how you can live every day with what you did. It’s wrong. You’re taking a life, turning yourself in. You killed my son.
