Britney Spears’ mother forced her to end her marriage to Jason Alexander in 2004
Annulment Britney SpearsMarrying childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander was the singer’s first insight into the singer’s impotence and has had a devastating effect on her ever since.
This is the view Now retired divorce attorney Mark Goldberg speaking for the first time in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com.
The Pittsburgh-based attorney has revealed how a stunned Alexander turned to him after being kicked out of Britney’s life after their infamous 55-hour marriage.
He revealed that neither Britney nor Alexander wanted to cancel which, he said, was forced by the singer’s mother and management.
He recalled how Alexander reached out to him in a series of emotional phone calls seeking advice after the singer’s mother kicked him out of their hotel suite in Las Vegas and his new bride’s life less than three days after their January 2004 wedding.
According to 80-year-old Goldberg, the issue remained with him even though Alexander did not continue to retain his services because he “felt sorry for the child,” who told DailyMail.com that he clearly loved Britney and hoped he would. They have a future together.

Ex-divorce lawyer Mark Goldberg has revealed that neither Britney nor Alexander wanted the annulment, which he said was imposed on them by the singer’s mother Lynn and management.
Britney made headlines with her explosive testimony in Los Angeles court last month when she blew the cover off the tutelage in which she allegedly was imprisoned for 13 years.
In a lengthy and emotional letter, she vehemently demanded that her father Jamie, 69, be removed from her guardianship position and claimed, among other things, that the guardianship prevented her from marrying her boyfriend of five years, Sam Asgari, 27, or even having an IUD removed so she could have children. with him as you like.

Britney has now refused to work while her father has legal influence over her life and finances.
Last week she won a major victory when the court granted her the right to choose her own lawyer and retained Matthew Rosengart. He took the position from court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham who had been making a salary of more than $500,000 a year during his tenure and had seen earlier efforts to remove Jamie from stalling when he failed to file the singer’s timely petition.
On Sunday, Spears, 39, was seen wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger while having a cup of coffee with Asghari.
Now, Goldberg remembered the bitter end of her first young marriage in his dealings with Alexander, who is also now 39 years old.
He corroborated Alexander himself’s claims last week when Alexander, who grew up with Britney in Kentwood, Louisiana, said he was ‘cheated’ into agreeing to the cancellation and misleadingly believed that he and Britney still had a future.
According to Goldberg, “I felt sorry for the child. He was really hoping and believing that he and Britney would get back together.
By the time Alexander reached out to him, Goldberg had a reputation as one of the top divorce attorneys in the country and was among the top 100 lawyers in the country.
He said, ‘Jason was looking for advice. He was very emotional and upset. Britney called him to come to Las Vegas. She was there with my friends as I remember, and paid for his next ticket.
As I remember, it was Britney’s idea to get married. He said they didn’t drink or do drugs – or at least they weren’t drunk.
The annulment papers stated that Britney, “lacks an understanding of her actions, to the point where she is unable to consent to the marriage”.
But Goldberg objected to this and said, “I asked him several times [if they were drunk or on drugs] Because if I was going to act it out, I needed to know all the facts and it was clear, they weren’t… they really loved each other. “

Britney made headlines with her explosive testimony in Los Angeles court last month when she blew the cover off the tutelage in which she allegedly was imprisoned for 13 years. She fiercely demanded that her father Jimmy (left) be removed from her guardianship position
Goldberg said: ‘The two went alone to a wedding chapel, got married and then went back to the hotel suite and their friends, all happy.
“The next morning, they called Britney’s mother and all hell broke loose.”
The singer’s mother, Lynn, and management were behind the cancellation, Goldberg said. He did not remember mentioning her father at the time.
He said: The mother was interfering and inserting herself in her daughter’s life.
She came to Las Vegas, fired Jason and gave him a plane ticket home.
Goldberg asked Alexander if they had consummated the marriage and told him that they had.
He said: ‘I explained that we can appeal the annulment. To my knowledge, that was not appropriate. They were married in good faith, and both had the power to say “I do,” and entered into marriage.
“I told him that if they separate it would probably be a divorce.”
Goldberg told DailyMail.com that he had a conversation with one of Britney’s attorneys on the East Coast informing her that he would “vigorously challenge” any cancellation on Alexander’s behalf.
He told DailyMail.com that he had already reached out to a senior divorce attorney in Las Vegas to take on Alexander’s case if he wanted to.
Instead, Goldberg said, after three or four conversations Alexander told him he would do what Britney’s mother and her management wanted.
‘He told me,’ Goldberg said, ‘They want to break up the marriage.’ I love her, I think she loves me, and we’ll see what the future holds. ”
I explained it to him. I told him we could fight the annulment, but I think in his heart Jason was thinking and hoping that if he agreed to it, he and Britney would get back, the two of them together.
It wasn’t her mother’s business, but Britney had been controlled and controlled since she was a little girl.
She gave in to her mother’s demands. Honestly, I feel sorry for the girl, and I felt sorry for the child [Jason].
The mother came and kicked Jason, bought him a plane ticket, and sent him packages. It was Britney’s idea for him to come to Las Vegas and he was happy to do so because he loved her.
But she was under the strict control of her parents all her life – her mother, and then her father, who made a lot of money from her. There is no love or respect there. There is nothing there.’
Over the weekend, Britney posted a video showing some of her house dance moves. She was spotted with a ring on her engagement finger while out for coffee in Los Angeles with Asghari on Sunday
Goldberg continued: “I really believe that this particular event had a detrimental effect on Britney Spears’ life – the way it was controlled and the cost to it.
The whole situation has stuck with me throughout the years because I feel sorry for the child. He really hoped they would get back together. Instead, she continued her career and got married again.
According to Goldberg, ‘Jason was confused because he loved Britney and didn’t want to hurt her, but he was very afraid of her mother and her management.
This wasn’t weird I just picked up. They’ve known each other for years. He thought that if he played the game and did what they asked of her, he’d come again, and it would be him and Britney together.
Instead, once he signed the papers along with the NDA, Alexander found that his calls with Spears had gone unanswered and her number had been changed.
The star announced her engagement to backing dancer Kevin Federline in July 2004, just seven months after her brief marriage to Alexander.
The couple had two sons, Sean, 15, and Jaden, 14, before Spears filed for divorce in 2006 in a split that was finalized the following year.
