CHICAGO – A body recovered from the Chicago River on Friday has been identified as A 23 year old man who went missing on the evening of October 31, sources told WGN.
Police said a body was found on Friday evening near 1,000 blocks on South Wales Street. Sources told WGN that the body has been identified as Inaki Bascaran, a 23-year-old man from Lakeview who has been missing since Halloween.
Baskaran was out on Halloween night with his friends to a bar in River North. Baskaran called his roommate saying he was near Walgreen’s and came home to his Lakeview apartment, but he never arrived.
Baskaran was last seen on the 100th block of West Hubbard Street, about two miles from where the body was recovered. His friends told WGN earlier this week that they thought his phone was dead and he tried to walk the five miles home.
Inaki Baskaran’s family has been notified of his death.
