Biden’s speech – live: The president addresses the nation after the killing of American soldiers in Afghanistan

The Pentagon confirms that two suicide bombers killed 12 American soldiers

President Joe Biden has promised to “chase up” the terrorists responsible for the two suicide bombings at Kabul airport that left 12 US service members dead and 15 wounded.

More than 60 people were killed and 140 others were injured in two explosions that rocked the international airport in Cairo Acceptance Earlier today as evacuations from the country continued.

ISIS Khorasan, the Taliban’s archenemy, has claimed responsibility for the attack, although there is no investigation so far confirming the terrorist group’s responsibility.

The president warned ISIS-K that the United States would retaliate for the attack.

“I know this ; We will not forgive. We will not forget. we. “I will track you down and make you pay,” said the commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

He said he asked military commanders to come up with plans to respond to the terrorist group.

The attack comes as the United States attempted to evacuate American citizens and Afghan allies before August 31 to complete the withdrawal after 20 years in the country.

The intelligence services warned days ago of the possibility of a deadly terrorist attack on the airport, as thousands of people are waiting to be evacuated from the country on military flights.

A Taliban spokesman said, “The Islamic Emirate strongly condemns the bombing of civilians at Kabul airport,” adding that “the Islamic Emirate pays close attention to the security and protection of its people, and the circles of evil will be strictly stopped.”

US military officials say the explosions did not halt the evacuations, which will continue through the end of the month as planned.

“Despite this attack, we are continuing the mission,” General Kenneth McKenzie Jr. said at a news conference.

Biden told a Fox News reporter that he sticks to the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan

“I’m basically taking responsibility for everything that’s happened recently. But here’s the deal: You know, I wish I had said these things one day, you know and I do, that the former president made a deal with the Taliban.

Then the president put his head in his hands as Doshi refused to acknowledge Trump’s deal with the Taliban.

Biden said he still does not believe the White House should “sacrific American lives” for the sake of establishing democracy in Afghanistan.

He asked the press if they really believed the United States should have gone to Afghanistan if al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had launched the 9/11 attack from a country like Yemen.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to end a 20-year war,” he concluded.
