Amber Alert: Jesse Lowery, 7, missing from Central Texas

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Authorities need your help to find a 7-year-old girl missing from central Texas.

Jesse Marie Laurie was last seen on Friday evening in Walnut Springs, Texas, in a blue shirt with stars and black pants with stars. She was also wearing a blue hair bow.

Laurie has brown eyes and dyed blue hair. She is three feet tall and weighs 40 pounds.

A 34-year-old man is wanted in connection with Laurie’s disappearance.

Randall Thurman is a white man, blonde hair, hazel eyes, height of 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt and blue jeans.

Thurman is believed to be driving a silver 2011 Chrysler 200 with Texas PDJ 3658 license plates. The car has a crossover sticker on the rear window, according to the Texas Public Safety Administration.

If you have any information about Lowrey’s disappearance, call 911 or the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office at 254-435-2245.

Walnut Springs is located about 60 miles northwest of Waco and 180 miles northwest of Houston.

Certain criteria must be met in order for law enforcement to issue an Amber Alert to a missing child age 17 or younger.
First, there must be a reasonable belief by law enforcement that a kidnapping has occurred. In addition, the law enforcement agency believes that the child is at imminent risk of serious bodily injury or death.

Another criterion is that there is sufficient descriptive information about the victim and kidnapping that will aid in the recovery of the child, such as a vehicle description or license plate number.

As part of Amber Alert, the child’s name and other critical date elements, including the flag of child abduction, are entered into the National Crime Information Center.

The Amber Alert system, used in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, was created in 1996. It’s short for America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response and created as a 9-year legacy — Amber Hagerman, who was kidnapped while riding her bike in Arlington Texas, and later killed.
