Earlier this week, R. Kelly was found guilty of all charges during his federal sex crimes trial. Since the ruling was announced, several people have shared their thoughts on the situation, and Akon was recently asked about his thoughts as well.
TMZ He met Akon at LAX and asked him about R. Kelly’s conviction verdict, and whether he thought R. Kelly could make up for himself after his actions.
Akon answered and said, “I think God makes no mistake. People can argue back and forth all day long, but if it ever happened to him, it’s supposed to happen to him for whatever reason. That’s why he’s so low. Now that’s something he must have within himself.” To re-evaluate his whole life, his way of being. Falling into such a situation, whatever happens, is between him and God.”
“There is always a way to redeem yourself,” Akon continued. “But first you have to accept the fact that you are wrong or in a position for this very purpose and why you exist in the first place.”
as Previously On Monday, a jury found R. Kelly guilty of all charges after being accused of engaging in sexual activity with several underage girls for years. Over the years, he received help from team members such as managers and assistants who did not interfere with his activities.
With so many accusations spanning the course of his career, it was only after the lifelong documentary series Surviving R. Kelly that effective actions toward the accusations began. Several of the alleged victims who appeared on the series also testified against Kelly in court.
