The parents told authorities that on May 19 they handed the baby over to someone they knew as “Cathy Nguyen,” someone they met at a cafĂ©, and paid $200 for child care.

The parents were arrested on May 20, however, Vinh was never found.

In a statement, the Australian Federal Police claimed the parents had not provided enough details to allow investigators to identify the person they say was looking after Finn.

Authorities were unable to confirm whether the person who might be looking after the baby was known as “Cathy Nguyen”, or if he was present at all.

The police are concerned with Vinh’s well-being.

They say it could be in different areas of NSW, including Cabramatta, Bankstown and Livepool in southwest Sydney, or West Wyalong, Temora or Wagga Wagga outside Sydney.
