A UC San Diego student who died in the fall has been identified from Tioga Hall

San Diego – University of California, San Diego student who Died in the fall From a residence hall this week he was attending a party on the eighth floor, the San Diego County Medical Examiner said.

The teen, identified as 18-year-old Aaron Phan, fell out of a bathroom window at the school’s Tioga Hall dormitory on Friday. An officer on campus has just arrived to investigate the gathering.

According to the coroner’s report released on Saturday, Fan “was at a party in a room on the eighth floor of the campus.”

“A campus officer came from the room to report a noise complaint and the deceased entered the bathroom. Shortly after, witnesses saw the deceased fall from the bathroom window onto the floor below and immediately called 911,” the report continues.

Paramedics took the teen to the hospital with multiple injuries. Officials said doctors tried to save the young man’s life, but he was pronounced dead early Saturday morning.

The 18-year-old was a student at the university’s John Muir College school said earlier this week. The fall came over the weekend at the University of California, San Francisco.

“It is with sad hearts that we share UCSD’s loss of a member of the Muir College community overnight,” school spokeswoman Laura Margoni said in a statement. “As we work to better understand the circumstances, we ask that the student’s family’s privacy be respected.”
