A successful Taiwan invasion would “massively destabilize” our region

Those who would suggest that Taiwan is not a vital strategic interest in Australia are mistaken, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“It is not what China is saying, but what China is doing that shows the true nature of the communist superpower,” Ms Credlin said.

“The issue of Taiwan has heightened the debate about China’s territorial aspirations and its timetable for achieving them.

“Not only would a successful invasion of Taiwan crush a nearly 25 million people democracy, it would endanger Japan and South Korea and massively destabilize our region as countries either made themselves impregnable or made the best deal they could with Beijing. “
