A man was killed and 3 others injured after a drive-by shooting on the north side, police said

San Antonio — A Thanksgiving rally quickly turned into tragedy after a speeding car shooting in the Northeast Side neighborhood killed one man and injured three others, San Antonio police said.

The shooting took place around 8 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 4000 block of Sunrise Creek Drive.

According to SAPD’s Public Information Officer, Alicia Pronida, the officers were initially sent for a shooting in progress. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old man inside a house who had died of his injuries.

Police said several people were inside the house at the time of the shooting.

Police said another 25-year-old man was taken to an area hospital after being shot and in critical condition. Two other women were also injured by the fire and were taken to a hospital in the area. Their circumstances are unknown at this time.

Witnesses told investigators that the shooting was from a car, and the search for the suspect is still underway.

Pronida said police believe it was a targeted incident and that it has been contained. Several shell casings were found at the scene and investigators are assessing property damage.

The investigation is still preliminary, and we will bring more updates as they become available.
