Many people also pointed out that the festival’s slogan was “See you on the other side” which has not aged due to the deaths that have occurred.

Podcaster Isaac Weishaupt explored this plot in the latest episode of his podcast Conspiracy theories and unpopular culture.

“So here’s the land of the Astroworld temple, the place where they tell you you’re about to enter a new world, a new dimension. And here’s the rappers, the gods, and we’ll make a sacrifice,” Weishaupt says.

Scott released a statement Sunday saying he was “absolutely sad” about the tragic events that occurred at Astroworld.

“My condolences to the families and everyone affected by what happened at Astroworld. The Houston Division has my full support as they continue to look at the tragic loss of life,” Scott wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

He added, “I am committed to working with the Houston community to heal and support families in need. Thank you to the Houston Program Manager, the Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love you all.”

The incident is still under investigation.

New York times Reports that the Houston police chief had visited Scott prior to his Friday show shared concerns about the crowd.
