HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – Representatives are searching for several suspects after the shooting of a 60-year-old man Friday morning in eastern Harris County.
The shooting took place around 5:30 a.m. on the 300th block of Shady Rock Street, near Ovaldi.
According to Harris County sheriffs, a neighborhood woman looked out her window and saw a group of burglars breaking into several cars.
The deputies said that she alerted a man inside her house, which prompted him to come out and confront them.
The suspects fled when confronted, and the 60-year-old chased after them, according to the deputies. That’s when one of the suspects turned around and shot the man.
He was shot in the arm and taken to a local hospital. Representatives said he was expected to be fine.
Now the deputies are looking for the thieves and the gunman. Investigators said they are looking for three to five men in a black Ford Explorer.
It is unclear whether all the men left in the SUV, or if some escaped on foot.
