SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A 40-year-old man was killed on a bicycle Thursday in the Otay Mesa West area of ​​San Diego when he was hit by an SUV in an accident that may have been intentional.

The accident was reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. on 3700 p.m. from Ari Drive, according to Lt. Adam T. Sharkey of the San Diego Police Department.

“San Diego Police Department traffic investigators responded to the investigation and collected information indicating that the traffic collision may have been intentional,” Sharkey said. Homicide investigators are assigned to investigate.

The lieutenant said that the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Initial information indicates that there were people on baseball fields at the Silverwing Recreation Center who may have witnessed the collision,” Sharkey said. “The vehicle involved may have been a light-colored SUV.”
