With the rise of social media, the increase in marketing is coming to this platform. Every day, more companies are realizing the infinite potential of social media marketing. Even brick-and-mortar companies that have been around for decades can jump on the bandwagon – and rightly so.

It has never been easier to identify, find and sell to our target audience through social media. With infinite resources at our fingertips, we have the ability to instantly chat with everyone we like (whether they answer is a whole different story or not).

In a recent move, LinkedIn jumped on the scene. Why? Because more and more people prefer to look at stories rather than browse the news. Stories are more exciting, in part because they are only temporary, and in part because they provide more insight into people’s daily lives.

The element of scarcity, as well as the fact that humans are naturally sticky noses, give stories the perfect power to form personal connections. Have you ever watched a particular entrepreneur or social media influencer for a long time and seen them in real life? I felt like I really knew them. Choosing to spend more time and energy on stories is a great way to build an inseparable bond with the audience.

I strongly believe that our attention as common people is getting shorter and shorter, and so are companies like Microsoft.
