With the rise of social media, the increase in marketing is coming to this platform. Every day, more companies are realizing the infinite potential of social media marketing. Even brick-and-mortar companies that have been around for decades can jump on the bandwagon – and rightly so.
It has never been easier to identify, find and sell to our target audience through social media. With infinite resources at our fingertips, we have the ability to instantly chat with everyone we like (whether they answer is a whole different story or not).
At least 91% of companies now market on social media. That said, the social media landscape is evolving faster than ever before and in order to keep up, we need to be aware of the latest developments. Here are 4 social media marketing strategies to incorporate in 2021.

Stories about the feed posts
In a recent move, LinkedIn jumped on the scene. Why? Because more and more people prefer to look at stories rather than browse the news. Stories are more exciting, in part because they are only temporary, and in part because they provide more insight into people’s daily lives.
The element of scarcity, as well as the fact that humans are naturally sticky noses, give stories the perfect power to form personal connections. Have you ever watched a particular entrepreneur or social media influencer for a long time and seen them in real life? I felt like I really knew them. Choosing to spend more time and energy on stories is a great way to build an inseparable bond with the audience.
I strongly believe that our attention as common people is getting shorter and shorter, and so are companies like Microsoft. Many people simply do not have the time or patience to watch a five to 10 minute video without scrolling further down the stream. Being able to condense your content for 90 seconds or less is a great way to keep the audience’s attention and keep them interested enough not to flip past. This is a big reason why Instagram bikes and TikToks are so powerful – they are short, fun and often examples of visual, historical narration.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Advertisement
We all know that technology is evolving at an incredible rate. What used to be the cream harvest a few years ago is now old news. Since the vast majority of companies spend money on advertising, a lot of time and energy has been put into optimizing them to ensure that you can outperform your competitors, without fighting over who has the biggest budget for spending. This shines AI measurements.
With the ability to read data a thousand times faster than humans, AI tracking can take the optimization of your ads to a whole new level. According to the Australian digital marketing company Yakk Digital, customers’ advertising profitability has increased by as much as 25 percent since AI measurements were made for their ads. By optimizing your ads with artificial intelligence, you significantly reduce your lead costs and ultimately make more money.

Connection and community
If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that we humans long for connection more than we have ever felt. Being in touch with our community is essential and most great brands and marketers know that the best way to build a brand is to create a community behind it.
Human beings seek importance, and that translation often comes from being part of online communities. This can come in the form of participating in the voltage of someone they admire or being in a Facebook group of like-minded individuals, but the connection and community go hand in hand, so keep that in mind and your marketing strategy.
Social media has certainly stood the test of time and has come to be. To get the most out of it, keep up to date with all the latest developments, incorporate them into your strategy and, most importantly, stay consistent.
