4 black-led startups in Austin have been awarded $400,000 in funding from Google
Four Austin startups founded by black entrepreneurs have received a huge boost from internet giant Google.
The four startups – Journey Foods, Sandbox Commerce, The Mentor Method, and Tradeblock – were selected for The second wave of Google for Startups Black Founders Fund. The $10 million initiative aims to raise the bar for startups founded by black entrepreneurs.
Last year, Google for Startups provided 76 startups led by Black in funding of up to $100,000. With Google’s second $5 million investment in the US Black Founders Fund, another 50 founders across the country receive $100,000 in capital.
Aside from cash, each company gets up to $120,000 in donated search ads from Google.org and up to $100,000 in Google Cloud credits.

- Food Journey It addresses issues related to food science and global supply chains.
