According to a 2019 Brightge study, 53% of trackable web traffic is generated from organic search results. Compare that to just 15% of paid search traffic, and you begin to see why search engine optimization (SEO) is so important.

Although SEO is not the only traffic driver. The key KPI for SEO can be to increase the volume of organic search, and leads to subsequent leads and users, but it also has benefits for other marketing channels – and for your big brand.

For example, the more organic search traffic you drive, the more people can target you again. This means you can take advantage of your paid digital channels to move people through a funnel instead of bringing them to the net in the first place.

You can also reduce your paid digital costs and acquisition costs (CAC) with great organic search rankings. If your organic content is at the top of the front page for a key term, you won’t care much about search engine marketing (SEM) on that keyword.

After all, why pay for an ad click when you can earn it organically from below?

Of course, the brand value of SEO far exceeds the paid digital CAC reduction. Great SEO can create a gap around your brand, so that whenever someone Google a word related to your industry, you appear in one way or another. You’re offering advice, education, courses, newsletters, webinars – anything to help the searcher find the answer.

And, in that case, it’s hard to work out the solution – well, your company is there to help.

This type of leverage puts you ahead of the competition for many years when you start building it early. Yes, payment takes time. How long? Well, if you are just starting out, usually start seeing results at least six months. The SEO flywheel will really take longer to catch.

Some brands ignore SEO because of the long wait for ROI. But they shouldn’t. Even a small amount of monthly SEO work can bring huge benefits.

Here are three simple steps you can take to begin the process of preparation for mediation.

1. Publish a blog post every month.

There are many content marketers and SEO experts out there who will sell you on a massive content marketing and SEO plan. In this plan, you can publish two to five blog posts per week and pay a lot to do so.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Instead, you can start by publishing just one piece of content a month. This is what you do.

  1. Submit your FAQ. From customer
  2. Make a list of these questions. Their answers will now be the blog posts you will write next year.
  3. Search Reddit, Quora and Google. To see how other people have answered similar questions and how those audiences are answering.
  4. Now, use your skills to record the answer.. Seriously, just talk to the mic on your phone.
  5. Download this audio and insert it into the transcription service. There are many on the web that will translate at 1 per minute.
  6. Edit the article or feed it into the AI Copy tool. This will clear up a bit for you (and possibly extend that too!)
  7. Post it on your site with a short URL., Something like this: www.yourwebsite.com/blog/how-to-solve-this-issue. Replace “How to solve this problem” with the question or problem at hand.
  8. Include this article in your product pages. And emails.
  9. Wash and repeat. With new questions each month.

Not every business is big enough to spend a ton of time and money on SEO right now. It will help you build a foundation as you grow.

2. Create a backlink profile.

Backlinks help search engines understand your site’s reputation. When you first launch your site, you will not have backlinks, and this will make your site look unreliable for Google’s algorithmic robots.

That’s why so many people buy existing domains when they start their own business. The older a website is, the better its backlink profile (or at least more likely to talk about a backlink profile).

This is valuable, as backlink profiles – which affect your domain ranking – may take some time to build.

But never be afraid! You can also create your own backlink profile. How is it here

  1. Answer relevant questions and conversions. Give your advice and insights for free on Reddit, Quora, etc., and add a link to the articles you’ve been publishing when relevant.
  2. Turn your articles into videos and post them on YouTube. YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine, and you can backlink your article in video description.
  3. Use Help a reporter. Or Help B2B Writer.. These daily emails ask you for insights on topics you specialize in. Just reply, and you can get coverage and backlinks to sites on the web.
  4. Choose a social media channel and post on it regularly. Work to build a community. This is great for your business, but also your backlink profile because social media sites have higher domain rankings.

These are opportunities for low hanging fruit, and they won’t make huge dent immediately. Over time, though, these backlinks are added, which puts you in a much better SEO position than it does.
