3 USPS workers, including a suspect, killed after shooting at the Memphis facility
The shooting occurred Tuesday afternoon at the USPS carrier’s annex.
Authorities say two U.S. Postal Service employees were killed after a shooting at a postal facility in Memphis.
FBI Memphis spokeswoman Lisa Ann Kolb said during a news conference Tuesday that the suspected shooter, who was also a USPS employee, died of his gunshot wounds.
The shooting took place Tuesday afternoon at East Lamar Carrier Annex, a location with no retail clients. At about 2:50 p.m. local time, the Memphis Police Department said it had secured the scene and there was no active threat.

Postal Inspector Susan Link told reporters that the USPS is working with the FBI, the Memphis Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on the investigation.
USPS and FBI spokespeople did not share any additional information about the shooting, including the identities of the victims or suspects.
“The Postal Service is saddened by the events that occurred today in Memphis,” the USPS said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with family members, friends and relevant individual co-workers. The Postal Service will provide resources to all employees at East Lamar Carrier Annex in the coming days and weeks.”
This is the second high-profile workplace shooting in the Memphis area in recent weeks. Last month, one person was killed and 14 others were injured in an attack Kroger grocery store shooting in Collierville. Police said the suspected gunman, a Kroger salesman, died of wounds apparently sustained by a gunshot wound.
